Overview:

HeartBeam Inc. (NASDAQ: BEAT) is a Santa Clara–based medical-technology company that received FDA 510(k) clearance in December 2024 for its cable‑free, synthesized 12‑lead ECG system, designed to provide high-fidelity arrhythmia assessments via a credit-card-sized device . To prepare for commercialization, the company launched its Early Access Program in March 2025, recruiting physicians and patients for real-world feedback ahead of broader rollout.

Role:

I was brought on as the sole marketing consultant for HeartBeam’s Early Access Program. My responsibility was to produce clear and engaging onboarding and educational materials – including in-clinic brochures, digital assets, and a step-by-step demo video – to support both clinicians and patients through program enrollment, training, and device usage.

Deliverables Included:

  • Bifold brochures for in-clinic use, introducing product benefits and trial protocols

  • One-sheets summarizing key features, device handling steps, and clinical insights

  • Digital versions suitable for email distribution and virtual onboarding sessions

  • Step-by-step demo video I wrote and directed to serve as the core educational asset, guiding both physicians and patients through setup and use.

Process:

  • Stakeholder alignment: Collaborated with clinical and regulatory teams to define key messaging and compliance needs

  • Audience-targeted content: Structured messaging for two audiences – physicians (e.g., clinical performance, trial logistics) and patients (ease-of-use, safety, onboarding steps)

  • Video production: Single-handedly scripted, directed, and shot the program’s step-by-step demo video using an iPhone. Delivered the final asset in one week on a $500 budget.

  • Visual storytelling: Used consistent branded design, icons, and flow diagrams to illustrate the 4-week program

  • Print-to-digital consistency: Ensured digital versions maintained readability and fidelity on screens, with interactive elements added for virtual delivery

  • Iterative feedback: Incorporated user feedback from pilot clinics to refine clarity, tone, and visual hierarchy

Outcome:

  • Scalable assets with high engagement: Materials became the primary educational tools during patient and clinician onboarding, currently used across every clinic in the Early Access program (ongoing)

  • Pilot program boost: Positive feedback from physicians and patients on clarity of collateral, aiding smooth onboarding of first participants
